About Me

ABOUT BILL FARRAND, LCPC

There is a reason why you’re seeking out therapy. Perhaps you’ve been experiencing some feelings that you’re not sure what to do with. You may be feeling overwhelmed by external events, or overwhelmed by your own thoughts. Or, you’ve been consistently feeling down or unable to function. There is hope. It can be difficult to take that first step, but by doing so you will greatly increase your capacity to be able to effectively manage your feelings and perhaps resolve any difficulties or challenges you may be experiencing.

I can provide you tailored, specific treatment based on what you’re experiencing and work with you to find what’s most effective to alleviate your symptoms and look at and heal the underlying causes.

I have a broad view of how one can approach therapy. My way of working is very client-needs specific, based on what your goals are. I seek to figure out what type of therapy you actually need, and try not to fit that into any particular rigid way of doing therapy. First I like to understand what’s going on for you and what your goals are, and then work with you to find an appropriate treatment.

If you’re going through a crisis or a particularly difficult or challenging time in your life, I will first teach you cognitive behavioral therapy tools and interventions to help you manage your feelings so you are able to function in your life. Once you start feeling better and begin to feel a sense of relief in your day to day life, then we can begin psychodynamic therapy to dig deeper into your past and find the source of the challenges you are experiencing in your life today.

In our first couple of sessions together, I will be able to identity what will be helpful for you as I begin to ask you questions and understand your particular situation.

Some people want to get some tools to feel better and then go back to their lives. Other people will spend a couple of years with me looking at something is more difficult or working on a behavior that is harder to change.

Whatever you are going through, I will tailor the therapy program based on your needs.
